Conducting a Walk
A step-by-step guide to conducting an in-store evaluation from start to finish.
Walks Overview
A walk is an in-store evaluation where you score each criterion on a template. Walks can be scheduled in advance or started on-demand.
To start a walk, go to Walks → New Walk, select a store and template, then begin the evaluation.
Scoring Criteria
During a walk, you'll score each criterion in the template:
- Enter a point value from 0 to the maximum for each criterion
- Add notes to explain your score or provide context
- For low scores, select a driver (root cause) to categorize the issue
- Use section notes to summarize observations for each section
Scores are saved automatically as you work through the template.
Adding Photos
Photos provide visual evidence to support your evaluation findings:
- Attach photos to specific criteria or to the walk as a whole
- Add captions to describe what the photo shows
- Photos can be taken directly from your device camera or uploaded from your gallery
On Enterprise plans, photos are automatically analyzed by AI to provide additional observations and SOP compliance checks.
GPS & QR Verification
StoreAudit supports two methods to verify evaluators are at the correct store location:
GPS Verification
- When a store has latitude/longitude configured, GPS check happens automatically when starting a walk
- The distance from the store is recorded and displayed on the walk detail page
- Admins can set the verification radius (50-5000 meters) in Settings
QR Code Verification
- Each store has a unique QR code that can be printed and posted in-store
- Evaluators scan the QR code when starting a walk for instant location verification
- QR-verified walks show a verification badge on the walk detail page
Admins can configure location enforcement in Settings as either advisory (warn but allow) or strict (block walk creation if not verified).
