## Department Evaluations Overview

**Department Evaluations** let you evaluate individual departments within a store using AI-powered photo analysis. Unlike full store walks, department evals focus on a single department and use photos as the primary scoring input.

### How It Works

- Navigate to [Evaluations → Department Evals](/evaluations#department-evals)
- Select a **store** and **department** to evaluate
- Capture or upload **photos** of the department
- AI analyzes the photos and generates a **score with observations**
- Review the AI assessment and add any additional notes

### When to Use Department Evals

- Quick departmental checks between full store walks
- Targeted follow-up on areas flagged in previous evaluations
- Training new managers on department standards

Department types are configured from the [Departments](/departments) page. Departments must be assigned to stores before they can be evaluated.
